Founder Tracy Ashfield
Tracy Jean Ashfield founded Strategic Mortgage Solutions to help credit unions develop mortgage lending strategies, policies, product design, training and strategic planning. SMS recently joined forces with Prime Alliance Solutions, Inc., where today Tracy serves as Executive Vice President, Strategic Mortgage Solutions. This merger has allowed SMS to leverage additional resources and depth resulting in more members financing their homes through credit unions.
Tracy has more than 25 years of experience in Mortgage Banking management. Before forming SMS she held a variety of management positions with CUNA Mutual Group. In addition to being the Senior Executive, Mortgage Development, Tracy was the Senior Vice President of Operations at CUNA Mortgage Corporation, where she was responsible for retail and wholesale production, more than 20 branches and their National Training Department. Tracy also worked with CMG Mortgage Insurance Company, where she helped credit unions develop low down payment and affordable housing programs for their members. In addition to working with credit unions and CUSOs, Tracy works with the NCUA and NASCUS to provide training and education in the area of residential mortgage lending. Tracy is the co-author of Credit Union Mortgage Strategies: The Best Never Rest and numerous other periodicals.
Tracy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Finance and Sociology from the University of New Hampshire. She is a Graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking, Washington, D.C. Tracy is a frequent speaker, guest lecturer and faculty fellow for the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and various credit union organizations.
